PATINATION, MAINTENANCE, AND REPATINATION

Typically, the urban environment is not kind to bronze. Over time, deterioration, oxidation and corrosion are unavoidable, resulting in a green ‘verdigris’ layer that obscures the original bronze finish. In these instances, Styles Façade Solutions® offers both expertly targeted bronze repatination and complete bronze restoration.

The bronze is carefully cleansed to the base metal before a new patina is expertly re-applied, waxed and buffed by hand to achieve the desired aesthetic. The bronze patination process involves the application of various chemicals to the metal to achieve the patina required. Once the desired colour is achieved, the bronze is sealed with high-grade wax or lacquer to protect the surface and maintain a natural sheen.
