Years of exposure had impacted the upper façade at 14–15 Conduit Street. Styles Façade Solutions (formerly Thomann-Hanry®) specialist office facade cleaning services used a scaffold-free Façade Gommage system to deliver efficient commercial façade cleaning in the heart of Mayfair.

Alongside external façade cleaning, we completed extensive redecoration works, including commercial window painting to timber windows and doors, restoring the building’s appearance and durability.

Our team also carried out commercial metal restoration, repairing corroded metalwork and downpipes, before applying Aqua Fend® surface protection to help safeguard the masonry from future weathering and contamination.

RESTORING A MOTORING MILESTONE

Tucked away in the vibrant heart of Mayfair, at the corner of Mill Street and Conduit Street, stands an unassuming, handsome brick and Portland stone building that belies its significance to the UK motor industry.

14-15 Conduit Street was once the prestigious West End showroom of Rolls-Royce, where the pioneer of motoring and aviation, Charles Rolls, worked until his tragic death. Today, the building is marked by an English Heritage commemorative blue plaque in his honour.

Decades of urban pollution and the onslaught of London’s temperamental weather had left the façade in urgent need of cleaning and repair. Styles Façade Solutions® was selected for the project, bringing our renowned expertise in heritage façade restoration to this historic site.

EFFICIENCY IN THE HEART OF MAYFAIR

The focal point of the restoration effort was the upper façade, where years of environmental exposure had taken a toll on the brick and stonework. Using our proprietary Façade Gommage cleaning process, part of our office facade cleaning services, proved to be the ideal solution.

 Styles Façade Solutions (formerly Thomann-Hanry®) conducted a scaffold-free façade survey of The Rosewood London Hotel. A mobile elevated work platform extends to roof level, where two team members stand in a basket inspecting the building’s upper masonry and dome.
