Celebrating 20 years of restoring excellence

November sees industry stalwarts, Thomann-Hanry®, marks its 20th anniversary in delivering clean and restored façades to commercial and historic building across the UK.
Shortly after the launch of Thomann-Hanry®, the NYX Hotel in London was the first to undergo the now famous cleaning process and kick off a façade cleaning revolution which would sweep across the UK.
The multi-award-winning façade cleaning, restoration, and redecoration solutions which Thomann-Hanry® have become famous for, has set a new standard within the industry. Through using façade gommage, a cleaning process which delivers a non-abrasive, water and chemical-free clean, to help gently erase the years of built-up dirt and grime which can affect all buildings, especially those in urban environments, a new standard was set for impeccable façade cleaning in the UK.
The Thomann-Hanry difference
One of the key differences which helped to cement Thomann-Hanry® as the UK’s premiere façade cleaning company, is the use of MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) which it uses for most of the work which it undertakes. This offers a scaffold-free solution, helping businesses to reduce costs, decrease the time required, and prevent buildings being enveloped in unsightly scaffolding for months on end.
As MEWPs can be easily moved and works can be conducted out of hours to best suit your businesses requirements, this means your property can continue as normal without impacting the work inside.
20 years of restoring excellence
Over the last 20 years, some of the most famous commercial and historic buildings have been cleaned using the innovative façade gommage cleaning process, these include: The Bank of England, Ritz Hotel, Sommerset House, Chetwynd Court (King’s College Cambridge), Australia House, Gresham Hotel (Dublin), Devonshire House, and The Ampersand Building.
From starting as a façade cleaning provider, Thomann-Hanry® have selectively added a range of additional façade solutions including surveying, repair, redecoration, and maintenance; allowing Thomann-Hanry® to become a ‘one-stop’ solution for commercial and historic building managers.
“As we celebrate and reflect upon our first 20 years, I would personally like to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey so far; from our great team (both past and present) and, most importantly, our valued clients. It has been fantastic to be able to change the way façade cleaning is delivered within the UK, greatly reducing the time and inconvenience which a standard, scaffolded clean would take. I, and the rest of the Thomann-Hanry® team are already looking towards the future, with significant investment into the business over the coming year and further exciting changes planned for 2026!”
